Fitzharry’s Manor Estate Residents’ Association
What we do
The committee meets about 4 times a year to organise events such as:
- Summer party – usually held on Nuneham Square
- Carol singing
- Annual General Meeting – a social event with an interesting topic and an opportunity to discuss estate matters.
- Advent windows display
- Easter egg hunt
- Carbon cutting initiatives.
We also:
- Seek residents’ views on priorities for enhancing our community
- Circulate FMERA Roundabout (via email) with notices for items for sale/ wanted or requests for help, information or recommendations
- Organise a Whatsapp group as a quick response to need in difficult times (such as the Covid pandemic)
- Lobby the councils regarding maintenance of roads, pavements, common ground
- Organise litter picking and Keep Fitz estate tidying
- Subsidise new trees in designated areas
- Provide volunteering opportunities for school students
- Comment on local planning applications
- Contribute to wider Abingdon initiatives such as Neighbourhood Plans, Safer School Streets, Abingdon Carbon Cutters.
